Organic Family Tea Tree Oil comes from an organic farming project in Mozambique, which was pioneered by one of the co-founders of Organic Family Tea Tree Oil.  She swapped her city job for rural Mozambique and the mosquitoes and with quality seed and training donated from Australian Tea Tree Oil farmers,  established a project to provide local rural families with training and opportunities for income, as there were few work opportunities in the area and crippling poverty.  The farm is now producing enough oil to provide your family with this natural and organic product.

How is Tea Tree Oil produced?

It is produced by steam distillation and takes 4- 6 hours every distillation to produce the oil.  The low technology methods used in the Mozambican project are good for the land, environment and the local communities. The trees are cut about 8 inches from the soil and taken to the distillation site where the leaf and small branches are torn off and then put into the still.  When the distillation is complete they decanter the oil into storage drums.
